Monstera 'Super Gold' Care Guide
Monstera 'Super Gold' is a striking variegated monstera with bright yellow-gold coloration. Because of its variegation, it needs a bit more attention than a standard green monstera.
☀️ Light
Provide bright, indirect light.
Avoid harsh afternoon sun, which can scorch the yellow portions of the leaves.
Too little light can reduce variegation and slow growth.
An east-facing window or a few feet back from a south/west window works well.
💧 Water
Water when the top 1-2 inches of soil feel dry.
Thoroughly soak the soil and allow excess water to drain.
Avoid keeping the soil constantly wet, as root rot can develop quickly.
Expect to water more frequently during warm summer months.
🌱 Soil
Use a chunky, well-draining aroid mix:
Potting soil
Orchid bark
Perlite or pumice
Optional: horticultural charcoal
A mix that allows air around the roots is ideal.
🌡️ Temperature & Humidity
Temperature: 65-85°F (18-29°C)
Humidity: 60% or higher is preferred.
Keep away from cold drafts and air-conditioning vents.
🌿 Fertilizer
Feed monthly during spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertilizer at half strength.
Reduce feeding during fall and winter when growth slows.
🪴 Repotting
Repot every 1-2 years or when roots begin circling the pot.
Choose a pot only 1-2 inches larger than the current container.
🪵 Support
Provide a moss pole or climbing support.
Climbing encourages larger leaves and more mature growth.
