Hoya carnosa ‘Krimson Queen’ is a popular, low-maintenance houseplant with variegated pink, white, and green leaves. Here’s how to care for it:

Light

Prefers bright, indirect light; too much direct sunlight can scorch the leaves.

Can tolerate lower light, but variegation may fade.

Watering

Allow the soil to dry out almost completely between waterings.

Water thoroughly, but avoid letting the plant sit in excess water, as this can cause root rot.

Reduce watering in winter.

Humidity & Temperature

Prefers moderate to high humidity (40-60%).

Can tolerate normal household humidity but benefits from occasional misting or a pebble tray.

Thrives in temperatures between 60-85°F (16-29°C) and should be kept away from drafts or cold temperatures.

Soil & Potting

Use a well-draining, airy mix (e.g., cactus or orchid mix with added perlite).

A terracotta or well-draining pot helps prevent overwatering issues.

Fertilizing

Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength once a month during the growing season (spring and summer).

Reduce or stop fertilizing in fall and winter.

Pruning & Propagation

Prune to maintain shape and encourage fuller growth.

Propagate via stem cuttings in water or soil.

Flowers

Produces clusters of fragrant, star-shaped flowers under optimal conditions.

To encourage blooming, provide bright light and avoid excessive pruning, as flowers emerge from mature stems
