Euphorbia 'Ghost' (Euphorbia lactea 'Ghost' is a striking succulent with pale white to gray stems and very little chlorophyll, making it a slower grower than many other euphorbias.)
☀️ Light
Provide bright indirect light to several hours of morning sun.
Avoid intense afternoon sun, especially in Florida, as the pale stems can sunburn.
If grown indoors, place near a bright south- or east-facing window.
💧 Water
Water thoroughly, then allow the soil to dry out completely before watering again.
During active growth (spring and summer), water approximately every 2-3 weeks depending on temperature and humidity.
Reduce watering significantly in fall and winter.
Overwatering is the most common cause of failure.
🌱 Soil
Use a fast-draining cactus or succulent mix.
Consider adding extra perlite, pumice, or coarse sand to improve drainage.
A pot with drainage holes is essential.
🌡️ Temperature
Prefers temperatures between 65°F and 85°F (18°C-29°C).
Protect from temperatures below 50°F (10°C).
In the Tampa area, it can be grown outdoors part of the year but should be protected during cold snaps.
🌿 Fertilizer
Feed lightly during spring and summer with a diluted cactus fertilizer.
Fertilize no more than once a month during active growth.
No fertilizer is needed in winter.
⚠️ Safety
Like all euphorbias, it contains a milky white sap (latex) that can irritate skin and eyes.
Wear gloves when pruning or repotting.
Keep away from pets and children.
