Anthurium clarinervium hybrid
Anthurium clarinervium hybrids are prized for their thick, velvety leaves and prominent white veining. Most hybrids have care requirements very similar to pure Anthurium clarinervium.
☀️ Light
Bright, indirect light is best.
Avoid direct afternoon sun, which can scorch leaves.
An east-facing window or several feet back from a south/west window works well.
💧 Water
Water when the top 1-2 inches of soil feels dry.
Keep the soil slightly moist but never soggy.
Reduce watering in cooler months.
Yellow leaves often indicate overwatering; crispy brown edges can indicate underwatering or low humidity.
🌱 Soil
Use a chunky, airy aroid mix:
40% orchid bark
30% high-quality potting mix
20% perlite or pumice
10% charcoal or coco chips
Good drainage is essential to prevent root rot.
💨 Humidity
Prefers 60-80% humidity.
Can tolerate typical indoor humidity but grows best with added moisture.
A humidifier is ideal, especially during Florida air-conditioning season.
🌡️ Temperature
Ideal: 65-85°F (18-29°C).
Avoid temperatures below 55°F.
Protect from drafts and air vents.
🌿 Fertilizer
Feed monthly during spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertilizer at half strength.
Reduce or stop feeding during winter.
🪴 Repotting
Repot every 1-2 years when roots fill the pot.
Only move up one pot size at a time.
Clear pots can help monitor root health.
